BBL laser hair reduction treatment.
What is BBL-Laser Hair Reduction?
BBL hair reduction is safe, comfortable, and effective. This advanced FDA approved technology is designed to remove or reduce unwanted hair and can treat all skin types. Its safetyt for all skin types makes BBL the treatment of choice for physicians.
How does BBL-Laser Hair Reduction work?
BBL produces a beam of highly concentrated light. The laser pulses for a fraction of a second, just long enough to travel down the hair shaft to the end of the hair follicle. This process will eliminate or greatly impede the hair’s growth.
Can all skin types and hair colors be treated?
While all skin types from light to dark can be treated, only hairs containing visible pigment can be treated effectively. You should always inform your care provider if you have been tanning, using self-tanning products, or have experienced prolonged exposure to the sun within the last three weeks. Your treatments will be adjusted accordingly.
How many treatments will I need?
Normal hair goes through a cycle that includes three phases: growth, rest and transition. During the growth phase, hair is susceptible to the laser’s energy, but during the resting and transitional phases, hair is resistant. Because of these phases, optimal results are unlikely without multiple sessions. Typically, five to six treatments, spaced four weeks apart, are necessary to achieve the desired outcome.
What will happen during the laser hair reduction procedure?
Your physician or care provider will discuss the treatment with you and decide if you need a topical anesthetic cream. The area of your skin that is to be treated will be scanned with the laser light. Treatment time will depend on the size of the area to be treated. The continuous cooling feature will ensure your comfort and safety during treatment. Since the sensation varies from individual to individual, a topical anesthetic may be provided. Let your care provider know if you are very sensitive.
Is there a risk of complications with laser hair reduction?
Temporary pigmentation changes are possible but seldom occur. Always discuss your concerns with your physician prior to treatment.
What should I expect after a laser hair reduction treatment?
Some redness and slight swelling may be present in the area that has been treated. However, this should subside within a few hours. If any prolonged redness or swelling occurs, please consult your physician immediately. Keep the treated area clean, use at least SPF 25 sunscreen when going outdoors, and follow physician instructions carefully.
