Dr. Keith LaFerriere of St. John's LaFerriere & Kienstra Facial Plastic Surgery recently traveled to Iran to address the 12th International Congress of the Iranian Society of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery. The group of more than 300 Iranian head and neck surgeons attended LaFerriere's presentations on facelifting, forehead and brow lifting, blepharoplasty, and his personal philosophy of aging face rejuvenation. Other members of the faculty of highly skilled surgeons traveled from as far away as Ireland, Belgium, and the United Kingdom to lead the conference.

"The people of Iran were excellent hosts who made me feel very welcome," LaFerriere said. "I found the Iranian surgeons to be quite sophisticated in rhinoplasty techniques and eager to learn more about facelifting and eyelid procedures."

Dr. LaFerriere, a Face-to-Face volunteer, recently returned from a trip to Vietnam, where he donated his surgical expertise to further the organization's mission of helping one person at a time to overcome physical limitations imposed by birth deformities, domestic violence, and war. While there, he also taught Vietnamese surgeons how to deal with these challenges.
