Dr. Daniel Olney is the thirteenth Facial Plastic Surgery Fellow ( starting in July 2007) to participate in the one year fellowship program under the direction of Dr. Keith LaFerriere and Dr. Gregory Renner through the University of Missouri and accredited by the American Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery. Our program is one of forty in the county dedicated to a high level of specialized training for chosen surgeons, advancing their expertise in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Olney was born in Iowa City, Iowa. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and English at the University of Iowa. Dr. Olney then attended medical school, also, at the University of Iowa. He then moved to Upstate New York to undergo his surgical training. Completing one year of general surgery, he then completed an additional four years of training in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. Moving back to Iowa, Dr. Olney then entered private practice back in his home town and practiced head and neck surgery for 2 years. Wishing to specialize even further, he was then accepted into the fellowship program for facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Olney is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.
Outside the office, Dr. Olney and his wife stay quite busy with their one year old son. He also enjoys exercise, travel, and reading.

Dr. Keith LaFerriere was raised in Detroit, Michigan and received his undergraduate and medical degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Following a Head and Neck Surgery (Otolaryngology) Residency at Washington University School of Medicine / Barnes Hospital Complex in St. Louis, Missouri, Dr. LaFerriere served two years with the United States Air Force. He then participated in the post-graduate Fellowship program of the Educational Foundation of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery under the directorship of E. Gaylon McCollough, M.D. in Birmingham, Alabama before entering private practice as a facial plastic surgeon in the Springfield, Missouri area.
Dr. LaFerriere is currently board certified in both facial plastic and reconstructive surgery and otolaryngology head and neck surgery.
Dr. LaFerriere is a Fellow and Past-President (2003-2004) of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, having served on the organization's Board of Governors for many years. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the American Board of Otolaryngology, and the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery. Dr. LaFerriere is a Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of Missouri and the co-director of a facial plastic surgery fellowship under the auspices of the University of Missouri, Columbia and the Educational Foundation of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. LaFerriere is also actively involved in teaching facial plastic surgery to residents at the University of Missouri at his Springfield office.
A respected facial plastic surgeon, Dr. Keith LaFerriere has received recognition from his peers as well as the community of Springfield, Missouri. For nine consecutive years, Dr. LaFerriere has been named one of Woodward and White’s "Best Doctor’s in America." He is also the recipient of the American Medical Association’s "Physician Recognition Award."
In 2006, Missouri’s Governor appointed Dr. LaFerriere to the State Board of Registration for the Healing Arts, a post he will hold through 2008. The Board of Healing Arts is responsible for the licensing of qualified physicians and the investigation and discipline of physician misconduct.
Dr. LaFerriere is recognized across the country for his depth of knowledge, surgical experience, and numerous academic contributions. He has published articles in scientific medical journals and textbooks on the subjects of blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), facelift surgery, endoscopic brow lift surgery, facial scar revision, and mid-facelift techniques.
As a well-known and respected facial plastic surgeon, Dr. LaFerriere is also a frequently invited guest lecturer and presents his work at universities across the country and national and international meetings sponsored by professional facial plastic surgery societies. Dr. Keith LaFerriere lends his expertise as a facial plastic surgeon to the "Face to Face" program sponsored by The Educational and Research Foundation for the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. This program is dedicated to helping victims of domestic violence break the cycle of violence, enhance their self-esteem, and rebuild their lives. Many survivors of domestic violence receive facial injuries and are not financially able to have these injuries adequately repaired. As part of this team of facial plastic surgeons, Dr. LaFerriere offers complimentary consultation and surgery services to eligible individuals.
