BOTOX® Cosmetic

Collagen

The collagen fillers available at our Missouri office can restore the skin's volume and smooth out facial wrinkles and folds, such as the folds between the lips and cheeks. Dr. Keith LaFerriere will discuss the different collagen fillers available with you so that you can make an informed decision about your treatment.

CosmoDerm™ & CosmoPlast™

CosmoDerm™ and CosmoPlast™ are human-based collagen treatments used to smooth very fine facial lines. These fillers are injected just below the surface of the skin. Results are immediate and typically last three months with no pre-treatment skin test required.

Zyderm® & Zyplast®

Composed of highly purified bovine (animal derived) collagen, Zyderm® and Zyplast® fillers smooth facial lines and wrinkles and fill out the skin for a more youthful appearance. Four weeks prior to treatment, a skin test is performed to detect any possible allergies. After allergies are ruled out, Zyderm® and Zyplast® collagen fillers may be used to supplement the skin’s natural collagen. Treatment with Zyderm® and Zyplast® requires minimal procedure time and provides immediate results that last approximately three months. These collagen treatments are a popular option at our Missouri office for those who wish to diminish mild to moderate facial wrinkles, one of the earliest signs of aging.

Restylane®

Restylane® is a non-animal based dermal filler that has been in use since 1996. How does Restylane® work?

Restylane® uses the body's own moisture to maintain its shape, providing a long lasting, natural looking result. As the hyaluronic acid in Restylane® begins to degrade over time, each molecule binds to more and more water in order to produce a similar amount of volume, even as the amount of dermal filler is reduced. The result? The effects of Restylane® may last up to six months, sometimes even longer.

Restylane® Treatment

Restylane® treatment at our Missouri facial plastic surgery center is simple and convenient. The results are practically instantaneous. Local anesthetic can be used to minimize any discomfort during treatment, but the injections are brief and virtually painless. Side effects of Restylane® treatment may include swelling, redness, or soreness at the injection site; however, these effects generally resolve within a few days.
