Proudly serving Springfield, Missouri, communities in Southwest Missouri, and Rogers, Bentonville, and Fayetteville in Northwest Arkansas.

Choosing the Right Facial Plastic Surgeon

Making the decision to pursue treatment for facial refinement is a big step, but it’s just the beginning. You must also choose the right surgeon to perform your facial plastic surgery and that can be a confusing task.

Six essential considerations should be a part of your decision process:

1. Board Certified – The physician is board certified and practicing exclusively in the specialty for which you are seeking treatment.

2. Experience – The physician has experience in performing the facial plastic surgery procedure you are interested in and can provide recent photographs of before-and-after results of actual patients.

3. Updated Techniques – The physician is an active member of medical societies that relate to his or her specialty and attends educational meetings regularly.

4. Accredited Facility – The physician performs facial plastic surgery procedures in an accredited or licensed facility.

5. Licensed – The physician is licensed to practice in your state and you have checked with the state medical board to confirm they have no prior or pending legal actions against them. It can also be helpful to run a Google search on the physician.

6. Compassion and Rapport – The physician listens to and directly addresses your concerns and gives you a sense of confidence and trust.

Earning your trust through quality. One of the most important things we do at LaFerriere and Kienstra, Facial Plastic Surgery, is to participate voluntarily in the quality assessment program of the Accreditation Association of Ambulatory Healthcare (AAAHC). The AAAHC is a private, not-for-profit organization that assists ambulatory health care organizations in continually improving the quality of care they provide to their patients.

Our accreditation means that the AAAHC’s independent team of health care professionals has taken a close look at us and has found that we meet their rigorous, nationally recognized standards for quality health care services.

Accreditation demands a high level of commitment and effort. It challenges us always to find better ways to serve you. It constantly reminds us that our first and most important responsibility is to see that you receive the safest and highest level of care we can possibly provide. Our accreditation provides that extra measure of confidence you want in a surgical facility and is one more way for us to say "We care about you."
